What is your case/injury worth?
Here is a small sample of the success our firm has had with clients who were injured:
- Children ages 13 and 12 awarded 2.1 million dollars for the wrongful death of their mother. Award included lost wages and loss of comfort and care that the mother would have provided to her children.
- 33 year old male awarded $145,000 for a broken arm injured in a car accident. This gentleman underwent three surgeries and suffered a permanent loss of function to his left arm.
- 42 year old single mother received $500,000.00 for rear-end crash. She was first told that her injury was a strain and later she was learned to have a herniated disc in her neck.
- 9 year old boy received $375,000.00 for dog bite. Award also included $50,000.00 to his mother for emotional distress for witnessing the attack.
- 20 year college student received $280,000.00 for car accident after head on collision left her with scarring and a semester lost from school.
- 68 year old grandmother slipped and fell at her apartment and was out of work for six weeks. This case was settled for $25,000 before a lawsuit was filed. Photographs revealed a defective gutter that allowed water to drip and black ice to form. Injuries included back strain and a brief loss of consciousness. Numerous state building code violations were cited in the demand to the insurance company prompting settlement.
- 78 year old gentleman struck by motor vehicle and suffered a broken nose and multiple contusions. This case was settled for $177,000 before a lawsuit was filed due in part to the private investigator retained by McLaughlin & McLaughlin, P.C. This investigator located a witness who observed the driver looking in another direction prior to striking the client.
- 24 year old female raped on a cruise ship and sustained post-traumatic stress disorder. This case was settled for a large sum of money (Confidentiality Agreement prevents disclosure).
- 26 year old single male, passenger injured as a result of driver being blinded by the sunlight. This client sustained a broken right arm and a fractured skull. This case was settled prior to trial for $175,000.
- 31 year old mother of four was nervous that her sister had not responded to telephone calls. Our client went to check on her in the early morning and while exiting the building was caused to fall and break her elbow. This case settled for $62,000. Three other attorneys had failed to recognize that the State Building Code contains regulations governing egresses and minimum platform widths.
- 31 year old male passenger killed in automobile accident. Our firm sued the bar where the driver was seen intoxicated. Case settled for a confidential amount after a chemist retained by our firm was prepared to testify that the driver would have been in an obvious state of intoxication.
- 7 year old boy awarded $26,000 for a broken arm. Our firm sought to have the daycare center held liable for negligent supervision.
- 36 year old single male awarded $14,000 for rear-end collision. There were no offers of settlement prior to trial. At fault party unsuccessfully argued that our client caused that accident.
- Owner of building (our client) successfully held architect and general contractor liable for negligent building techniques. This client’s case was settled for $325,000.
