James F. McLaughlin

James (Jay) F. McLaughlin graduated from Suffolk University in 1986, and Suffolk University Law School in 1989.

James concentrates his practice in personal injury, construction accidents, contractor liability, architect and engineering liability, and slip and fall accidents. In addition, Jay practices criminal law where he has had hundreds of trials representing clients charged with drunk driving, vehicular homicide, and other charges involving crimes against persons and property.

Jay is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA) as well as ATLA, which is the national association of trial attorneys. Jay is also a member of the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. Since 1990 Jay has counseled over 1,200 clients in the above areas.

Jay was born in Brockton, Massachusetts and is married with four children.

John W. McLaughlin – Of Counsel

John W. McLaughlin graduated from Suffolk University in 1984 and Suffolk University Law School in 1989.

John concentrated his practice in personal injury and divorce law. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1990 and is a member of the United States District Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. John is not an employee, associate or partner at McLaughlin & McLaughlin, P.C. John is "of counsel".

John is an upstanding member of the Massachusetts Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA). John has been counsel to approximately 1,125 clients since 1990 and continues in the goal of assisting each and every client one at a time.

John was born in Brockton, Massachusetts and is married with one child.

Chester R. McLaughlin

Chester "Chet" McLaughlin Retired 2002 and passed away on May 6, 2011. Chet was a driving force in the area of workers compensation and personal injury law from 1972 through to his retirement in 2002.

Chet, practiced in the area of personal injury with an emphasis in trial work. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1972 and has been admitted to the United States District Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Chet graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 1971. Prior to that he enjoyed a stellar sales career with the Lawyers’ Cooperative Publishing Company. Chet is what Bostonians call a “Double Eagle”, where he graduated from Boston College High School and Boston College, which he completed in 1954. After college, he joined the Marines as an officer and was a Captain in the Intelligence Sector. He was honorably discharged in 1963.

Chet McLaughlin’s most impressive accomplishment is not the thousands of clients he helped, spanning a career of thirty years but, raising seven children and being a grandfather of fifteen and a great grandfather of three.
